An unusual case of hematemesis- Case report of carcinoma cervix with a rare site of metastasis

Dr. Karthikeyan Kaliyamurthi

Carcinoma cervix is the most common malignancy among women in rural India. Metastasis in carcinoma cervix usually occurs through lymphatics and rarely by blood vessels by invasion. Distant metastasis in carcinoma of the cervix occurs in the lungs, liver, and spine. We present a case of carcinoma cervix who came with abdominal pain, hematemesis, melena, and low backache. She was evaluated and found to have metastasis in the duodenum and lumbar spine. Metastatic lesions are more common than primary in the duodenum.
